April 22nd was Earth Day and as your Southwest Florida water management experts, we at Crews Environmental want to stress the importance of water conservation 365 days a year. April was recognized as water conservation month. As you may be aware, we’re currently experiencing drought conditions throughout Southwest Florida. Though Florida is among the most water-efficient states in the nation, it is crucial that we continue to do our part to ensure sustainable water for the future.
What can you do to help?
Don’t let the water run when hand washing dishes.
Run your laundry or dishwasher only when it is completely full.
Use one side of your sink for wash water and the other for rinsing.
Buy a more water-efficient shower head or toilet
Check toilets and faucets regularly for leaks.
Be sure to turn off outside hoses completely
Don’t run the water while brushing your teeth or washing your hands.
Take shorter showers.
These are just a few suggestions of many little things you can do to make a big impact on the environment. Not only will you save money on your water bill, but you’ll also feel good knowing that your actions are saving thousands of gallons of precious water every month.
If we all make a little effort, it will go a long way.
Happy Earth Day too all our friends from everyone here at Crews Environmental!
