Professional Grease Trap Cleaning in Captiva, FL

Grease trap problems do not announce themselves. One missed service cycle leads to foul kitchen odors, mid-shift drainage slowdowns, and a health department violation that threatens your license. Captiva’s year-round Gulf Coast heat and tourism-driven kitchen volume accelerate FOG buildup, making it more aggressive than in cooler regions.

Restaurants, cafes, food trucks, and commercial kitchens across the island rely on Crews Environmental for grease trap cleaning. Captiva food service operators can schedule on their terms. We handle commercial grease trap cleaning for all types of setups, including difficult-to-reach indoor units, and offer 24-hour emergency service with over 40 years of experience across Lee County.

Warning Signs Your Grease Interceptor Is Overdue for Service

Slow Draining Sinks

Water backing up at the prep or dishwashing sink points to FOG buildup restricting drainage. This is a grease trap maintenance problem that worsens with every service shift.

Foul Odors

A persistent sewer smell means the trap is overloaded and releasing gas into your workspace. Your grease interceptor needs cleaning before the odor reaches dining areas.

Grease Overflow

FOG bypassing the trap and entering the sewer line puts you in direct breach of compliance. Regular grease interceptor cleaning and scheduled grease trap service prevent this entirely.

Backups

A full-kitchen backup shuts service down and violates health codes. Emergency grease trap cleaning at that point costs far more than routine grease trap pumping. Captiva operators can book in advance.

Increased Pest Activity

Decomposing grease waste draws flies and rodents to floor drains and trap access covers. Pest activity near these areas means the unit has been missed.

Failed Inspection Risk

Florida health inspectors check service documentation. Missing records put your operating license at risk. Staying current on grease trap maintenance, as required by Captiva health officials,e protects your business at every inspection.

What Happens If You Don't Clean Your Grease Trap in Captiva?

Skipping service doesn’t just delay the problem; it creates new ones. Overflowing traps or lapsed records can lead to fines. And when FOG builds up unchecked, it often causes sewer blockages, leading to emergency plumbing repairs that cost far more than routine grease interceptor pumping would have. Contamination of local waterways draws state-level environmental action. A trap ignored long enough will need full replacement, the most expensive and most preventable outcome in preventative grease trap maintenance.

Outdoor Grease Interceptors

Underground interceptors serving restaurant grease trap cleaning and hotel kitchen operations require heavy-extraction equipment. Captiva’s year-round heat speeds FOG breakdown, making regular interceptor maintenance especially time-sensitive.

Automatic Grease Recovery Units

AGRUs run around the clock. Even so, they still need routine grease trap inspections and interceptor maintenance to ensure everything’s working properly and the compliance paperwork stays current.

Our Step-by-Step Service Approach

1

Initial System Evaluation

The technician checks the trap first, then looks at the inlet and outlet baffles. If there’s buildup, it gets noted before extraction starts.

2

Complete Extraction of FOG & Wastewater

The vacuum unit is quiet and simultaneously removes fats, oils, grease, and wastewater. Technicians also apply an odor protector while they work, so the area doesn’t end up smelling.

3

Thorough Interior Cleaning

All silt is eliminated, and every interior surface is wiped clean. Sludge removal is completed before the unit is sealed.

4

Operational Check & Service Documentation

The technician checks that the flow is back to normal, then hands you a Waste Transfer Note for your records before heading out.

Testimonial

I called Crews Environmental 2 days ago to have my septic tank emptied. The rep (sorry, I forgot her name) was friendly, polite, and helpful. I told her that I had used Crews Environmental when I bought my home and because they were so friendly and professional back then, I wanted to use their service again. She was able to schedule me for yesterday.; however, due to the thunderstorms and concern about lightening, she called me yesterday afternoon to reschedule to Monday. However, Raul, the technician who was just here, called called me last night at 6:50pm to ask if he could come today. He just left a few minutes ago.He showed me how full the tank was when he got the cover off and before he started the vacuum. He told me that he'd let me know when it was empty so I could go see for myself that it had been completely emptied. He said he likes for people to see for themselves that he did empty the tank, rather than just assuming it was done. When Raul had emptied the tank, he asked me to flush my toilets so that he could be sure nothing was stuck in the pipes. He said if the toilets would not have flushed, he would try sticking the vacuum hose into the pipe going to the toilets and hopefully suction out whatever was blocking it. Both toilets both flushed just like normal.. He showed me the empty tank and it is completely empty.I will happily continue to use the services of Crews Environmental. It's nice to work with such professional and friendly people. To Crews Environmental: thanks for such great customer service!!!
